KAPS Personal Generator

 

The KAPS (Kaldara Power System) is a small, modular and transportable electrical power generating unit that uses pollution free geothermal energy from the earth.

The KAPS units can be installed at production site in days rather than years and will open up the possibility of utilizing temporary access to geothermal wells. Containers are used as on-site buildings and by appropriate arrangement and environmental painting they can be made to resemble and adjust to the surrounding nature.

A visit from the embassy of India

His Excellency Mr. Sivaraman Swaminathan the Ambassador of India in Iceland paid a visit to the Kaldara Green Energy offices on the 16th of March 2009.

The Ambassador was introduced to:

  • The Company Kaldara Green Energy and its Norwegian holding Company Green Energy Group AS
  • Kaldara Power System, the 5 MW KAPS geothermal power generating unit
  • Kaldara co-operation with the Indian turbine manufacturer Hi-Efficiency,. The two companies are working towards establishment of Hindustan Turbomachinery a turbine manufacturer in Bangalore that specializes in manufacturing of KAPS geothermal units.
The meeting was both delightful and enlightening and will open up for for increased communication between Indian and Icelandic experts on geothermal science and technology.

The meeting was at the initiative of Mr Olafur Ragnar Grimsson the President of Iceland, who visited the Kaldara offices last week.
